In 2016, after 2 years of deep depression, I was perusing the Internet and somehow came upon the cutest little face I had ever seen.
As a person who liked dogs and who had outdoor dogs as a child I had no idea what I was getting into, I just knew I needed a change, a big change, and within less than a week change was what I got.
Instead of focusing on me and my problems I had a cute little 3-pound puppy that relied solely on me for her survival. I found the true healing power of having a pet within just weeks of being baby Yazhi's mamma, and I knew then I had to do more to share this feeling with people; I just wasn't sure how yet. In 2017 I decided we would start a t-shirt line. This line would donate to local shelters to help them save more animals and help more dogs and cats find their furever homes.
Since 2017 Yazhi and I have been on quite a journey. I finally got out of my depressive funk and we have been on many great adventures together, she's the best travel companion ever! We've been trying to find the right people to work with to bring our vision to life, and during that time we have become local legends in our daily matching outfits. Then a global pandemic halted everything and everyone. Flash forward to 2021 and we have a small, but mighty, team and we're here to bring Urban Pawrent to life!
During our gestation period we have decided to extend Urban Pawrent's impact even further. Not only will we give back to shelters in local communities, we will also give to the National Park Conservation Association (NPCA), because, as well as knowing pets are good for the soul, we believe connection to nature is vital for mental health.
We look forward to dressing you and your family!

Business Practices
Urban Pawrent is a small woman owned and operated business. We are happy to support other small, locally owned businesses in San Francisco. Our clothing graphics are printed at The Wishing Well Workshop and our hats are printed/embroidered at Camputee, both based in San Francisco. We strive to use USA made garments whenever possible. Our goal is to produce our own garments as we grow so we can ensure the sustainability and ethical production of every garment we make.
Thank you for your support!
